Boat Slip Rules & Procedures
- Only a Howell Point property owner or resident can obtain a boat slip.
- Proof of boat ownership must be provided with payment of slip by providing a copy of your boat registration. The boat must be registered to a Howell Point property owner or resident.
- Payment for slip shall be made to the Howell Point Treasurer not later than April 1. Any unpaid slips will be assigned to those on the waiting list. In order to remain on the waiting list, General Dues must be paid.
- Fees for slips are as follows:
- Speed & pontoon boat slip - $200.00
- Fishing & sailboat slip - $100.00
- Personal watercraft - $100.00
- Kayak (on rack), per each boat - $50.00
- Payment of slip fee constitutes acceptance of all rules.
- Boat length is limited to 26 feet and beam is limited to no more than 11 feet including mooring poles or boat lifts.
- All boats are to be docked bow first.
- No physical attachments to the piers are allowed.
- Storage spaces on the kayak / canoe racks are for single boats only. Double-stacking of boats is permitted only on those racks designed for this purpose. A slip fee is charged for each boat.
- No boats shall be moored or beached on shore overnight (i.e. paddle boats, fishing boats, canoes, kayaks, personal watercraft, etc.).
- No swimming is allowed off of the boat piers or in the dock area.
- Fishing is allowed off the piers only by Howell Point residents or guests.
- Boat owners are financially responsible for their own and their guests litter, damage to docks, etc.
- Boat owners must remove their boat and all mooring poles not later that the 2nd Sunday of October of each year. Nothing can remain in the park.
- If a boat owner is in violation of any rule their slip use can be terminated and/or monetary damages assessed as follows:
- First offence: Actual cost.
- Second offence: Two times the actual cost.
- Third offence: Four times the actual cost.
- Pier chairman will be furnished one boat slip free of charge.
